Roads End Vacation Homes

Current Issues in Roads End Vacation Home Rentals:

1.  Vacation Rental Proposals by the City of Lincoln City will limit the number of days some Roads End Oregon Vacation homes can be rented called Vacation Rental Days.  Lincoln City’s proposal is designate some Vacation Rental Dwellings (VRD) as a “no zone” and some VRD’s as a “yes zone”.   In their proposal, a “no zone” will have limits on the number of days rented all the way down to only 14 days per year. This will cause a number of homeowners to go into foreclosure, will hurt local economy and local businesses.   Oregon ranks #3 for the greatest percent increase in poverty since 2000.  There is high demand for Vacation Rentals, and this will increase as 10,000 baby boomers continue to retire each day.   Roads End Property Owners want freedom and property rights.

2. Roads End Property Values have declined drastically in the last 8 years per Zillow.com . If the City of LIncoln City limits Vacation Rental Days, that will have a negative affect on Roads End Property values.

3.  The Annexation of Roads End into Lincoln City , which was effective July 1, 2014, has increased the taxes on Road End properties by $5 per $1000 assessed value.  This means that a property with an assessed value of $400,000 has had their property taxes increased by $2000 per year.  The increased property taxes, per the City of Lincoln City, will be phased in over several years.  Some home’s in Roads End have seen 35% increase in property taxes in the last year per Zillow.com
